HOT BULLDOGS PUT BITE ON LIONS
PLYMPTON chalked up its first win of the season with a crushing 76-point win against SMOSH West Lakes in their Bank SA division three Adelaide Footy League clash last Saturday.
The Bulldogs dominated their home game to win 17.10 (112) to 5.6 (36) with Lonnie Hampton, Jack Donkersley (four goals) and Stuart Taverner among their best. The Lions struggled for consistency with Peadar Brady, Alex Hughes and Stefan Thomas among the best.
Flinders Park set up a big lead in the first half and held that advantage to beat Mitcham away, 18.17 (125) to 11.14 (89).
Reds coach Dave Kennewell said he was impressed with his side’s ability to finish off plays.
“That was a very good win,’’ he said. “This year we have some dynamic forwards and height. I think we are in a very good place.’’
Best for the Reds were Chad Comitogianni (30 possessions), Tyson Horsnell (five goals) and Tom Alder. Key forward Andrew Ainger did not play. Simon Tucker, Dennis McEvoy and Simon Duykers were among Mitcham’s best.
