Club History


Started as Central Juniors Football Club, but changed names in 1978 to Central United when senior teams were introduced. Played in the NMFL (formerly CDFA) before joining the SAAFL. The club have won 4 A Grade Premierships since inception into senior football (1978), 3 NMFL, 1 SAAFL.

The club was established in 1962 as the Central Junior Football Club, then the senior body was formed officially in 1980, the year it was undefeated premier of the CDFA. It also won the premiership in 1982. In 2003 the Central United and Central United Junior clubs merged under the former name fielding junior teams from Under 7 to Under 16 in the CDJFA. The club record holder is John Harley who played 289 games.
