Ivana Lombardi – Commercial Operations | Adelaide Footy League
My first introduction working with the Adelaide Footy League was in 2011 where I was contracted for a short period to work in the accounts area. I learnt very quickly about the passion of local footy and was thankfully given the opportunity to become a casual employee where I was accepted as one of the family and through this, my understanding for working with communities truly developed.
Seven years on, I have made the transition into the full-time role of Commercial Operations; making myself more accessible to the club’s needs. My educational background in Bookkeeping and HR along with over 20 years’ experience in my previous employment has provided me with a detailed understanding of Australian Rules Football.
My favourite time of year is during our finals campaign; watching the many clubs, their families, friends and supporters witness a local footy game with pride and passion in hope to celebrate their home team’s win.
Away from football I volunteer at my daughters’ school; spend time with my fiancée, two beautiful daughters and the family dog, Sodapop. I love to attend live theatre and love most kinds of music and given an opportunity I would attend concerts more frequently.
Post season I look forward to switching off, taking a mini break with the family and regrouping for the following year…
Dee Shepard – Partnership & Communications Executive | Adelaide Footy League
I have been employed as Partnership & Communications Executive with Adelaide Footy League since December 2012 after spending a few years with Sturt Football Club as Corporate Service Manager prior to a long profession as Executive Assistant to Phil Hoffmann at Phil Hoffmann Travel.
I have travelled extensively and often hosted large groups throughout many countries. One of my most personal achievements was trekking in the Himalayas. Not only was the scenery outstanding but the culture and people were heart-warming.
My foremost background has been in travel but I was given an opportunity many years ago to focus on sponsorship in Australian Football rules. The leap from travel to footy has been challenging yet exciting. I love footy and feel very privileged to work in the code.
My father played for the Magpies back in the late 60’s and finished his career with Riverside so I guess local footy is in my blood. I have friends that play in the League, family that play for Port District and a cousin that plays in the women’s league for North Haven.
Adelaide Footy League is grass roots footy, an oval in almost every suburb. It is exciting being involved with the ongoing growth and development of the League.
