Woodville applied to the S.A.N.F.L. for admission after the war, and a delegation met with representatives of the Port Adelaide and West Torrens clubs to discuss suggested boundaries. However, admission was not granted to Woodville until 1963.
Unofficial matches continued throughout 1944 and 1945. University was still actively involved, and the highlight of 1944 was its match against Norwood/North. Norwood/North was particularly strong in 1944, and after winning the S.A.N.F.L. Semi Final had a bye. It therefore arranged a match against University, and the students must have given it a good run because Norwood/Northwent on to win the S.A.N.F.L. premiership the following week.
