RAGGIES OUT THE DROP ZONE
Athelstone were thought by many to be visiting division 1 for the year. It was expected to be a sojourn where they battled manfully but did not prove strong enough for the upper echelon of top flight football.
At 1 and 6 this looked likely but the last month has been phenomenal as they have peeled off 4 consecutive wins and now find themselves out the relegation zone and 1 game outside the 5.
Trailing by 15 points late in the game the Raggies rattled on the last 4 majors to again come out victorious with BOG Daniel Cluse kicking the sealer. Next week they host Goodwood who fell by 22 points at TTG despite the best efforts of Anthony Skara. I expect Goodwood to win but Athelstone are making a habit of proving the doubters wrong.
