Adelaide Footy League stand up, speak out and act to stop violence against women in their community
Adelaide Footy League is helping prevent the cycle of violence against women by hosting a White Ribbon Match on Saturday 28 July, to raise funds and awareness for White Ribbon Australia.
Sport is a critical channel for raising awareness of the importance of respectful relationships across Australian communities. Millions of men, women, boys and girls are involved in sport at some point in their lives. It is so important that the prevention of men’s violence against women is incorporated to reach further into the community and highlight a sporting culture based on respect and inclusion.
ADL Footy League want people to know that violence against women is everyone’s issues, and it is unacceptable.
This July, the League is taking a stand by holding a White Ribbon Match to stand up and speak out, to prevent the cycle of abuse in our community. We will not remain silent.
Funds raised go towards supporting White Ribbon’s national primary prevention campaign, which aims to stop violence before it occurs, through education initiatives in schools, workplaces and the broader community.
White Ribbon is committed to building an Australian community where every woman lives in safety, free from all forms of men’s abuse.
